Banker Profile - Karyn Neely

In this week’s team member highlight, we sat down with Karyn Neely to discuss her and her role here at Encore Bank. 

What Is Your Current Job Title At Encore, And How Long Have You Been In That Position?

VP – Post Closing Review & Imaging Manager since July 2021.

Can You Give Me A Brief Overview Of What It Is That You Do For Your Job At Encore?

I primarily manage the Post Closing Review Team. We monitor collateral and financial exceptions requirements for commercial lending and maintain the electronic file cabinets for commercial lending and Concierge Banking. I also serve as the liaison for our appraisal partners of Commercial Lending.

What Led You To Encore, And What Was The Deciding Factor In Making The Switch?

I was recruited by Phillip Jett in 2019, and listening to the story of the kind of bank the management team wanted Encore to be just blew me away.

What Led You To Choose A Career In Banking?

I think banking chose me because I have worked in the banking industry since graduating from high school. I went on to achieve my B.A. in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate. I have always been a service-oriented person, I like helping people and being part of a team.

How Would You Describe The Culture At Encore?

Encore is different than any other place I have ever worked before. It is professional, but also fun and laid back, like a family environment.

What Do You Like Most About Working For Encore?

From the executive management team down, the expertise and dedication of the Encore Team make this bank special. We listen to one another, and we all learn together.

Along With Many Industries, The Banking Industry Is Ever Changing. What Types Of Changes Do You Think Will Happen In The Next Five Years?

Digital technology is the biggest change and Encore will be ready.

Who Has Been The Most Influential Person In Your Life, Either Personal Or Professional?

My parents were hard working people who taught me to be a respectable, productive and responsible person.

What Do You Like To Do For Fun Outside Of Work?

I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I also enjoy decorating my home and making crafty things, like jewelry and sewing.

What Is Something That You Are Looking Forward To This Year, Either Personal Or Professional?

I am ready to get back out there and travel a bit. Anywhere.

What’s One Location You’d Love To See Encore Bank Branch To?

Maybe California. That would make us coast to coast.

What Does Building Something Different Mean To You?

 I think it means listening to our customers and providing them innovative products and services they want and need, and we service them in a manner that positively impacts them so personally that they are confident Encore is the right bank for them. Our people will make sure this experience happens.
